Born on November 3, 1945, in Pampa, Texas, Darla dedicated over 50 years to teaching and mentoring, leaving a lasting impact on students, colleagues, and the broader community. As the Assistant Director of Premier High School in Amarillo, Texas, Darla’s devotion to supporting students was unwavering, and this scholarship ensures her legacy continues to inspire future generations.
Darla’s commitment to education was remarkable. From starting with her GED to completing a Master of Science Degree in Special Education and Administration at West Texas A&M University, her journey was one of perseverance and dedication. Her roles as a teacher, counselor, and minister highlighted her deep faith and commitment to serving others. To honor Darla’s memory, the Darla Snow Sutton Scholarship provides a $500 award to one deserving graduate of Premier High School in Amarillo, Texas, each year until the fund is depleted. This scholarship reflects Darla’s passion for fostering education and supporting students in achieving their dreams.
To apply for the Darla Snow Sutton Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
Enrollment: Applicants must have been a student during the current school year at Premier High School - Amarillo.
Teacher / Staff Sponsorship: It is required for applicants to secure a sponsorship from a staff member.
Application Form: Applicants must complete the official scholarship application form below and submit it before the specified deadline of May 10th of the current school year.
The scholarship recipient will be chosen by a committee comprising of members of the Premier Amarillo Scholarship Fund. Applications will be evaluated based on the applications and the sponsorship teachers incite.
